North Terminal is Gatwick’s second, more recently expanded terminal, and it has long been the airline base most closely associated with easyJet’s Gatwick operation, alongside a range of other carriers. Airlines are periodically reassigned between Gatwick’s two terminals, so rather than pin down a specific list here, always check your terminal on your booking confirmation or airline app before travelling.
The detail that catches the most travellers out at North Terminal is a simple one: there is no railway station here. Gatwick’s train station, used by Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink services, sits under South Terminal. If you’re arriving at North Terminal and want to catch a train, you’ll need the free inter-terminal shuttle first, about two minutes each way, running 24 hours a day, plus the walk and wait either side.
