Early-morning travellers flying from London Luton Airport can now start their holiday the night before take-off.
Passengers flying with Wizz Air on departures scheduled before 9am can check in and drop off their luggage the previous evening, thanks to a new twilight bag drop service. The initiative, which launched on Monday, February 16, operates daily between 9pm and 2am giving holidaymakers the chance to skip the early-morning airport rush altogether.
Wizz Air Introduces Twilight Check-In for Early Departures
Clare Armstrong, Head of Guest Experience at the airport, said February half-term offers the perfect excuse to escape the gloomy British winter, whether it’s couples jetting off for a romantic Valentine’s break, families chasing sunshine, or solo adventurers exploring somewhere new.
She added that the airport team remains focused on delivering a smooth, friendly experience for all passengers and that the new twilight option ensures even more travellers can begin their journey in the simplest way possible. The service follows what she described as an exciting year for LLA, marked by continued investment in upgraded facilities, new retail and dining options, and record customer satisfaction scores.
Wizz Air becomes the third airline to roll out an evening bag drop at Luton, joining easyJet and Jet2.com, both of which introduced similar services in 2025.
The airport is gearing up for a particularly busy half-term week, with around 325,000 passengers expected to travel through its terminals. Armstrong said the team is “all set for another busy and exciting week” and thrilled to see so many passengers choosing LLA as the starting point for their getaways.
